Installation of a Ceiling Fan Question

Hello Danielle,

Thank you for thank you for your question! You asked for an opinion on the
cost of a job. Here was your question: "I need a ceiling fan installed in
my living room."

Installing a ceiling fan is often simply a one hour job if there is an
existing light fixture that is being replaced. However, if the electrical
box is not fan rated it should be replaced with the proper box. This
usually adds about 1 hour to the job. If you do not have an existing light
in the room you will have to run electricity from a nearby source. That
will usually mean an another hour or more of labor and some additional
materials cost.

As you can see, the installation of a ceiling fan is usually somewhere
between 1 and 3 hours. At $50 per hour you should expect to pay as much as
$150 labor plus any materials that would be needed.

Hope this is of some help,

Thanks for asking,
