Handyman Earnings and Health insurance

Hi Richard,

Thank you for purchasing my book, for your comments and for your question!

From my experience the amount of money you earn will be directly related to
the number of hours you are able to work. I have had several periods of
time off due to over stressing my arms. Too much drill gunning! In one of
those periods I wrote this book.

I am much more careful now. For me, an ideal day is 4-6 hours of billed
time. I can do this 4 or 5 days a week without breaking down my 53 year old
mortgage broker body. I almost always work by the hour so the math becomes
pretty easy.

The younger, stronger and more motivated you are, the more you will earn.
There is plenty of work out there for a good handyman. If you apply
yourself to building your referral business there is no reason that you
can't be successful and the next step might be to get your contractor's
license and hire laborers.

Regarding health insurance, I'd suggest you talk to someone from NASE. They
are brokers for self-employed group insurance. I'm fortunate in that my
wife's work supplies us with insurance so don't have cost figures to offer.

Thanks again and best wishes,

Bob

message: Hello Bob, I just finished reading your book. It was great. Very
well written and informative. I have a few questions that I hoped you might
answer. Could you give me a round about figure how much pay one could expext
after doing this for a few years? (working hard and charging around $50 to
$60 an hour). I very much want to pursue this line of work but need to clear
a certian dollar amount to maintain current standard of living. Also do you
pay for your own health insurance through the Sole Prop? Thanks again, your
book really got excited.Rich
