Hello Maria,
Thank you for your question! You asked for an opinion
on the cost of a job. Here was your question: “Hello, We currently have an older interior pocket door that we would like removed and replaced with a new pocket door. The hardware that is needed for rolling the door also needs to be replaced. Thank you, Maria”
Replacing a pocket door is sometimes easy and at other times difficult. Parts of the door trim will need to be removed in order to allow the pocket door to swing out for removal. The real problem is changing out the hanging hardware that is inside the wall. This is usually very difficult to accomplish without removing additional trim or cutting an access hole in the side wall. Both of these solutions require additional time to close it all back up. If possible, use the existing hanging hardware. Not including the cost of the door or other materials, the cost of labor to replace a pocket door could be as little as $150 and as much as $400.
Hope this is of some help,
Thanks for asking,
