These jobs appear to be perfect tasks for a handyman but there is one thing you should be aware of. If you hire an unlicensed handyman to do the work the combined total for the jobs will certainly be over $500. In California the Minor Work Exemption limits the total job size to $500. If the combined total of labor and materials exceeds that limit the handyman is required to have a Contractors License. Even if the handyman carries liability insurance his/her policy will not pay claims on a job that exceeded $500 since the work was not performed legally. You’ll have no legal protection if something goes wrong.
