askthehandyman.net - garage door opener replacement

Hello Steve,

Thank you for your question! You asked for an opinion on the cost of a job.

Here was your question: "The old garage door opener has to be removed and a new one installed. All the mounting holes and straps will be utilized. The door is a sectional 8` door with no special requirements.

It usually takes 2 3 hours to remove the old opener, prepare and install the new opener and to make any needed adjustments. At $50 per hour that would bring a typical installation charge to $125 150 plus the cost of the garage door opener.

Hope this is of some help,

Thanks for asking,
