askthehandyman.net - tub enclosure installation

Hello Vernon,

Thank you for your question!  You asked for an opinion on the cost of a job.

Here was your question:  "How much should I expect to be charged to have 2 tub bypass enclosures and 1 shower door replaced in my home? I will be furnishing the doors."

Sorry, cant be of much help on this one without being able to see the work.  Expect to pay labor charges of about $50-$75 per hour.  Dont forget that in California the maximum work that an unlicensed handyman can perform is $500.  If your job exceeds the limit and something goes wrong with the installation you have no recourse in court.  Hire a contractor for your own protection.

Hope this is of some help,

Thanks for asking,

PS. This opinion is for comparison purposes only and is not intended

as an offer or contract to complete the job.  Please check your local codes

before hiring an unlicensed handyman.  Protect yourself by hiring a licensed contractor

to perform skilled labor that meets local building code requirements.
