Does driveway sealing require a contractors license?

Tommy,

I don't believe that a contractor's license is needed to apply a drive
sealant. Don't take my word for it though...check with your local building
department. Give them a call and tell them you've had a couple of companies
offer to seal your driveway who didn't have a license. Are they acting
legally?
