Here was your question:  "I have added a room and trying to save money a friend offered to put up the sheetrock and finish all the walls for me.  I need to know how much to pay him."

If you figure the work on a daily basis you’ll end up paying a handyman anywhere between $200 - $400 per day.  (Depending on your area).  I would suggest you pay your friend about half the amount you would end up paying a handyman.  Though your friend may refuse, you’ll feel better having made the offer.  People often feel guilty asking friends for help – this will help keep open the door for future requests and favors.
